Yep, that's pretty much the plot as I've read it. I mentioned it the other night at dinner with friends, thinking they would find it slightly disturbing. Instead, they thought quite the opposite.

Try to find the ITC 1982 show "Whoops Apocalypse." It is fantastic and trumps this American version.
